Take your jewellery making hobby to the next level. This course teaches students the basic techniques of jewellery-making including piercing, filing, soldering, shaping, forming, design layout, and application. Students will create original designs in silver and can expect to make one or more finger rings and a piece of chain while working at their own jeweller's bench equipped with a torch and flexshaft tool.

Expand your jewellery making knowledge at your own jeweller's bench in this intermediate workshop. This course enables students to make projects of their own design while learning new fabricating techniques. Students will hone their skills in developing textures on metal, making bezels, and improving their ability to measure, fit and solder metal. Students will provide input on specific techniques they would like to see demonstrated in class.

Learn one of the oldest techniques for crafting jewellery. This course introduces students to wax carving and the lost wax casting process for rings or pendants. Students will learn about designing, wax carving methods and tools, spruing, investing, casting, and finishing sterling silver. Some basic metalsmithing techniques will also be covered.

Develop your design and computer skills through an introduction to 3-D modeling. This course will teach students how to model, edit and analyze organic 3-D shapes using a free form surfacing tool set. Students will also learn more advanced techniques using industry standard software, Rhinoceros. This course is ideal for jewellery makers, industrial designers, product designers and anyone who needs to model or prototype products for manufacturing.
