Vancouver Community College (VCC; the College) has a responsibility to maintain and support the safe service and consumption of liquor on VCC property and at events.

This policy establishes the principles and practices for VCC to comply with current liquor licensing and liquor serving Regulations, Statutes or Acts, and to mitigate the risks associated with liquor service and consumption on VCC property and, if applicable, any third-party property.

This policy applies to all events on VCC property where liquor will be served.

1. All sales and service of liquor on VCC property will comply with the B.C. Liquor Control and Licensing Act and the Liquor Control and Licensing Regulation (collectively, the “Act”), each as they may be amended from time to time, and with the provisions of the College’s Primary Liquor Licence.
2. If the serving of liquor is required at any event held on VCC property, the College’s Food Services department will be the service provider on a right of first refusal basis.
3. Failure to comply with this policy or the Act may result in disciplinary action.
4. The advertising and promotion of any event held at the College will not promote liquor or liquor consumption in any way without the approval of the Vice President Administration & International Development.
